SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE ~ NIGHTLY TREMBLING ~ lp (TIME-LAG 013)
In 1999 six organs released nightly trembling as an anti-sorcery lathe-cut edition of 30 or so. every copy was personally sent to its owner in an attempt to create a web of consciousness that would be enhanced by the polycarbonate material that deteriorates at an accelerated rate with each listen. consciousness was regained and inverted. time-lag and six organs are pleased to offer the sounds made for that project so you can cut the metaphysical bullshit, get loaded as fuck and come back down to earth about 40 minutes later… 180 gram vinyl. packaged in a black on black screenprinted/letterpressed fold-out cover, with letterpressed insert. numbered edition of 500.
SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE ~ FOR OCTAVIO PAZ ~ lp (TIME-LAG 014)
during the winter of 02/03, ben chasny sat down for a few late night sessions with wine in glass and recorded these instrumentals using just guitar and voice, and on a few songs some bells. for octavio paz is the first six organs record to draw from the reverberations of a nylon string guitar, resulting in some of the saddest notes yet recorded on any six organs release. stripped of the usual sufi influenced lyrics, this record proves that the spiritual flows freer through the non-delineated form of instrumental sound. side b features a near side long steel string epic that conjures visions of dessert orgies, appalachian witch hunts and the loading of a shotgun to be aimed at the six and twelve string bandits on the horizon… 180 gram vinyl. packaged in a white on white screenprinted/letterpressed fold-out sleeve, with letterpressed insert. numbered edition of 500.

ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE & ULTRASOUND ~ IN G ~ 10inch (TIME-LAG 018)
wonderful collaboration recorded live on-air at KVRK austin texas, 2002. AMT’s freak-out tendencies are mellowed somewhat by ultrasound’s melancholy minimalism, resulting in something sounding like a sort of chiming cosmic gamelan rock… think ultrasound’s popol vuh tribute with rock band in tow, and you’ll be close… side one slowly builds from deep space buzz to some seriously lifted viola sawing/piano tinkling. side two’s duel guitar action hits some heavy extended cosmic chug, floating along on a thick wash of bass/synth/theremin/percussion… all headed for a final fuzz collapse. play it loud… far out ‘invisible’ 100% inkless packaging: clear vinyl, no labels, dry letterpressed transparent film covers… look close… limited to 600 copies.

CHARALAMBIDES ~ OUR BED IS GREEN ~ 2lp (TIME-LAG 025)
the debut release from texas’ favorite psychedelic voyagers, on vinyl for the first time ever. originally self released as an ultra-limited cassette way back in 1992, it was later reissued on the bands own wholly other imprint in a much edited form, only to go out of print again. here the original cassette track list and sequence is restored, minus too covers songs. a historic milestone in the story of the contemporary underground, as well as an extremely mind-melting dose of outsider drone/folk/psych in its own right. the duo of tom & christina carter here managed to wrap their fingers and minds around a whole slew of sonic vibrations, while at the same time clearly charting their own low-key and unique course. tapping into about every slant of damaged texas exploration, this massive recording flows through haunting lo-fi slow motion folk, full-blown, fuzzed-out spacerock, beautiful outsider acid psych, fizzing drone experimentation, loose blues forms and plenty of higher minded guitar improvisation, all with a certain shining wide-eyed bliss. and yes, christina’s voice was just as jaw dropping then as it is now… while worlds away from charalambides recent outings on one level, those sonic tendrils trace a clear line back to the sweet seeds planted here… pressed on two massive slabs of audiophile 180 gram vinyl, and packaged in a beautiful silver & clear ink letterpressed tri-fold cover, on heavy olive green art paper, with extensive notes by tom carter. hand numbered edition of 800 copies.
WOODEN WAND & THE VANISHING VOICE ~ BUCK DHARMA ~ 2lp (TIME-LAG 026)
wooden wand and co. have been serving up some damn fine doses of psychedelia over the last couple years to be sure, but this mighty slab here nails the very essence of their power. beautifully blurring the lines between songs and jams, this is the stuff you ‘ve been waiting for. the whole thing has a great dark, lo-fi edge to it that will tangle yr mind right up and not let go for a good 80 minutes. seriously warped sounds abound, from folky dirges to throbbing trance rock to rippling sonic explorations to weird-ass organ lurch, all executed with a woozy minimalism that makes the walls crawl. wooden wand and satya sai scuppety swap off vocals throughout to great effect, and the whole thing unfolds rather cinematically… certainly one of the most face melting downer/acid/folk/psych albums you ‘ll hear this year… pressed on two slabs of 180 gram virgin vinyl and packaged

in an exquisite custom art paper heavy gatefold cover, with beautiful full color artwork inside and out, and heavy stock insert. hand numbered edition of 800 copies.

KUUPUU ~ ILLUSIA ~ 7inch ep (TIME-LAG 027)
vinyl debut from finland ’s finest fairy goddess, kuupuu (aka jonna karanka). beautiful extended tracks featuring piles of instruments and noisemakers all played by jonna. side one chugs along like a shimmering cosmic freight train, rippling with layers of hovering drones, looped and layered vocals, pitch ebb & flow, and loose tinkling percussion a disorienting & lifted vibration frozen in space. side two begins with sparse moaning vocals, klang, & bells, and slowly shifts into a stunning melancholy lo-fi folk/psych downer, with slow and beautiful vocals and plucked acoustic guitar. very sweet. plays at 33.3rpms… packaged in a lovely tri-fold heavy stock textured art paper cover, with beautiful full color art by jonna, and slick full color sunset label art. numbered edition of 600 copies.
WOODEN WAND ~ HAREM OF THE SUNDRUM & THE WITNESS FIGG ~ lp+7inch (TIME-LAG 028/029)
from the moment the first notes of the original polyamory cassette edition hit our ears last year, weâ€!"ve been way sucked into this one… wooden wand steps out solo from behind the vanishing voice and lays down one of the sweetest, most timeless, acid tinged loner folk journeys this side of 1974. intimately striped down and strait forward, but at the same time extremely psychedelic. these songs are the kind of inner skull reverberations that only gush forth when yr mind is alone… vocals whisper in yr ears, double up, echo, and soar through a warm web of acoustic guitars, sparse westcoast electric moves, and hazy bedroom ambiance the thing that really sets this it apart from the pack though, is the pure quality of the songs. this is thoughtful, beautiful stuff folks, the kind of album that just grows with each spin… the bonus 7inch dishes up 3 even more bare boned cover songs, all exclusive to this vinyl edition… packaged in a private press style, letterpress printed, textured art paper cover. 180 gram virgin vinyl. hand numbered edition of 760.
GHQ ~ COSMOLOGY OF EYE ~ lp (TIME-LAG 031)
first proper release from this headspinning acid/drone/raga crew thats been quietly haunting the northeast for a couple years now… for this album the band was marcia bassett (double leopards, hototogisu, zaimph, un, etc.) steve gunn, and pete nolan (magik markers, vanishing voice, etc.)… heavily dosed trips into eastcoast trance primitivism, gushing with mantric meshes of strings and voice. centered around bassett & gunn’s acoustic guitar freeflow, and wrapped up in layers of hovering vocal mist, buzzing drones, percussive clatter, and nolan’s subtle but massively psychedelic electric guitar moves. over five extended tracks things slide along from bone rattling minimal vibrations, dip into opiated folk beauty, and then blow things wide open with a full side of fevered, acid soaked raga lift-off… keep that third eye open folks… pressed on 180 gram virgin vinyl and packaged in a sweet two color letterpress printed heavy black artboard cover, with a nice 8×10 photo insert shot by tom carter. hand numbered edition of 850 copies.
MARCONI NOTARO ~ NO SUB REINO DOS METAZO ARIOS ~ lp (TIME-LAG 032)
first ever reissue of this totally brilliant post-satwa 1973 brazilian private press featuring the core trio lula cortes, marconi notaro & ramalho. recorded just months after lula & lailson had released satwa, lula was back in the same recife studio with poet and friend marconi notaro to lay down another equally magical album. ramalho, who would go on to record the paberu 2lp with lula two years later, makes his recording debut here as well… somehow amidst the harsh government restrictions of 70s brazil, lula côrtes and his group of artist friends had managed to bypass the authorities and create a hugely creative micro-world of their own, recording, producing, and releasing this album with complete independence. no small feat in and of itself, no doubt, but the music is what makes this slab a true lost masterpiece… the whole album gushes forth with a sun baked spirit of the highest level, mixing tropicalia tinged folk-beat groovers, satwa style bliss trance ragas, pabiru favored lysergic jungle psych, and even a raging fuzz/wah soaked garage psych rocker. extremely mind melting from start to finish, with huge washes of rippling tape delay, electric & acoustic guitars, 12 string, tranced folk percussion, passionate yet mellow vocals, liquid electric bass, acid effects everywhere, and of course lula’s mercurial & heart melting tricrdio (an instrument he made himself, something like a sitar/dulcimer hybrid). beautiful, melancholy and joyous all at the same moment, this is an album that after 33 years still sounds completely fresh & unique… sadly marconi passed away in 2000 having lived a life of obscurity even in his own town, yet leaving behind 7 published books of poetry and this stunning, lone album. this reissue has been authorized by maconi’s daughter and lula côrtes to insure they receive the credit and funds they deserve, even if it comes 3 decades late… fully reproduced original art, featuring beautiful drawings by lula & layout by katia. heavyweight, old-style, laminated gatefold covers. pressed on 180gm virgin vinyl. original label art. plus a huge full-color 4-page insert featuring fully translated original notes, rare photos and book covers, marconi’s last poem written the day before his death, and extensive new notes & biography by lula côrtes. vinyl version limited to 1000 copies.
MV & EE WITH THE BUMMER ROAD ~ MOTHER OF THOUSANDS ~ 2lp (TLR-033LP)
after piles of privately released cdrs & long gone vinyl only releases, here’s the mv/ee album for the masses, who are no doubt quivering for it… don’t be fooled though, this is neither the medicine show zone of recent years, nor a mere echo of the tower recordings flame, but a new beast stirring awake in the beaming sun of now. aided by the bummer road and the omni present erika elder, mv has here pushed his cosmic sounds beyond the apex of high. no doubt there’s plenty of lifted rural raga vibrations, and big woozy doses of haunted folk-blues as well, but the mix of flat-out killer ’songs’ and extended electric psych-outs is something of a revelation. ‘beautiful mountain’ & ’sunshine girl’ are tantalizingly close to being something like modern underground hits, while the side-long album closer ‘death don’t have to mercy’ is an epic head-spinning trip loaded with moments of fragile piano lull, layers of serpentine acid guitars, and all-around smoky late-night jam vibes… throughout the album both mv & ee’s vocals are more present & stronger then ever, and the harmonies have a real sweet lonesome glow… surely the finest blossom yet from the mighty maximum arousal farm… features matt valentine & erika elder with mo’ jiggs, sparrow wildchild, nemo bidstrup, tim barnes & samara lubelski adding harmonica, percussion, flute, electric guitar, tambura, violin, ukelin, and more to the usual assortment of mystic strings… packaged in a beautiful heavy old-style gatefold cover with glossy laminated photo outside and silver on white interior. classy sliver/black labels. analog saturation mastering by wojcek czern, poland, for maximum aural radiance, and pressed on two slabs of audiophile grade 180gm virgin vinyl. limited edition of 1000 copies.
ELEPHANT MICAH ~ HINDU WINDMILLS ~ lp (TIME-LAG 035)
at long last, there’s finally a full length elephant micah lp born into this world. why it took so many years will remain a mystery, cuz as far as we’re concerned elephant micah should have been a household name for years now, and if nothing else these sounds just beg to be heard on vinyl… so here it is… stripped of all superfluous sound, and presented with the sort of stark realness that creates a deeply psychedelic mood without being in the least bit overt. joe o’connell has always been at the top of our favorite contemporary songwriters, and here the songs truly take center stage for the first time. recorded direct to hand held cassette recorder using only acoustic guitar and vocals, with just sparse backing from a little percussion, cello, electric piano and double tracked vocals, the gauzy overdubs of past releases have all but vanished here. at the same time the lyrical depth & intimacy have easily doubled, creating some of the most affecting country tindged melancholy we’ve ever laid ears on. hushed, heartaching, and utterly timeless. and it just gets better with every listen… the voyeuristic pureness is further enhanced by hissy near haiku spoken fragments of tape that pop up between songs throughout the album… 180gm vinyl packaged in a beautifully primitive ultra-heavy weight chipboard uni-pak cover, with two color letterpressed art. numbered / limited edition of 300 copies… PLEASE CONTACT BEFORE ORDERING as i’m getting covers in in small batch, so stock is limited at any given time. *cd version of the same album available
SILENT LAND TIME MACHINE ~ & HOPE STILL ~ lp (TIME-LAG 045 / INDIAN QUEEN 001)
here’s something a bit different… a collaborative release with the band’s own indian queen label. pretty hard to pin this one down, but its a trip for sure. a rather mysterious one man band solo outing from texas, who builds up layer upon layer of violin, viola, acoustic guitar, slippery electric slide, percussion, electronics, accordion, buried vocals, and found sounds into haunted, rollicking, thick sonic blankets of sound. many simple parts entwined, looped, and orchestrated into an undulating whole, like naive bedroom folkrock filtered through some blissed out minimalist phase experiment. ecstatic, post-psychedelic chamber rock maybe? really doesn’t sound like much else out there, but its instantly enjoyable, energized, and grooves freely in its own uplifting way. packaged in ghostly and subtly beautiful offset printed foldout cover, with foldout insert. 180gm vinyl. limited, numbered edition of 300 copies.
